Former Chiefs winger among the five released by Stars

Other players released by Stars are: Thabang Klaas, Cesaire Gandze, Maboke Matlakala, and Judas Moseamedi.


New Free State Stars coach Nikola Kavazovic has decided to trim his squad, releasing five players in the January transfer window.

Amongst the five players is former Kaizer Chiefs winger William Twala, who joined Ea Lla Koto on a free transfer from Amakhosi in August last year.

Other players released by Stars are: Thabang Klaas, Cesaire Gandze, Maboke Matlakala, and Judas Moseamedi.

Left-back Klaas joined Stars in March last year after being released by Polokwane City a few months prior, while central midfielder Cesaire Gandze was signed from Congolese side AC Leopards.

Centre-forward Matlakala was drafted in from Cape Umoya United in the off-season.

Striker Moseamedi joined Stars on a season-long loan from Cape Town City at the start of the current campaign.

The lanky striker is said to have signed for struggling Maritzburg United.
