Brockie opens up about his frustrating time at Sundowns
Brockie was one of the surprise last minute moves that happened on Monday night as he was announced as a Team of Choice player on a one-year loan deal.

New Maritzburg United striker, Jeremy Brockie has opened up about his frustrating time at his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns whom he joined under so much fan-fair only for him to fail to break into Pitso Mosimane’s team and spend more time on the stands than on the pitch.
Brockie was one of the surprise last minute moves that happened on Monday night as he was announced as a Team of Choice player on a one-year loan deal.
“No. Not at all,” said Brockie when asked if he regrets ever leaving SuperSport United for Masandawana. “ I feel like if I hadn’t gone there it would be something that would always be playing on my mind. To be fair no one expected it to go the way it did. It’s one of those things that happen in football. You see it all around the world with players moving to other clubs and it just doesn’t work out. But for me now what’s important is that I am going to be playing football again which is the only thing I know and enjoy,” he added.

“When I went to Sundowns I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to break into the team because they have a lot of quality players. But I believed in my ability and I was excited about the move.
“I dealt with the frustration by spending time with my family and trying to take my mind off football when I was not on the field. I had to remain professional with a good attitude and I think that is one of the reasons the president (Patrice Motsepe) allowed me come and enjoy my football here,” explained the Kiwi player.
He said he was now looking to opening a new chapter in his career as he believes the move to Maritzburg will afford him enough game time to resurrect his career.
“It’s very exciting to be here. It is no secret that it’s been a long waiting months since I joined Sundowns. I am always going around with a smile whether I am experiencing a good time or going through a tough time.
“But the smile is a lot bigger now that I know I am going to be playing some consistent football and just getting back to doing what I love. I am grateful for the opportunity to join Maritzburg. The president of Sundowns played a big role in letting me here on loan. I am looking forward to it.”
“I am not here to talk about that now. I am here now and I am here to talk about my new home. My family will join me here in a few months time.”
