You might have heard the age-old phrase that you are as good as your last game, which is a statement that does not ring so well for SuperSport United, whose defence was shredded to pieces in about two minutes by Royal AM to condemn them to a 2-1 defeat in the DStv Premiership.

Their next opponent are TS Galaxy, who are beaming with confidence from their last match against Baroka FC, who they beat 2-1.

United midfielder Jesse Donn reckons that The Spartans have an ace up their sleeve for the Rockets on Friday.

“We know that they are a good side despite having a rocky start to the season, they have just been unlucky that things have not been going well for them but they managed to get a win in their last game and they will come with a lot of confidence in that game,” said Donn.

“We will be looking to continue our good start of the season despite the bit of change in fortune because we were doing well and now we have two losses on the bounce. Both teams will be looking to prove something but we just have to focus on what we are good at and I am really confident that we can get all three points,” he added.

However, the wound of losing two games on the spin still runs deep for Donn and his teammates as they have now dropped to fourth on the log.

“It was a really tough pill to swallow losing to Royal AM the way that we did. We knew they are a good team and we knew that they have scored late goals in some of their games. We fought so hard in the game and gave a good effort and to concede two goals in such a short space of time right at the death is really disappointing,” Donn said.

He adds: “The circumstances to the game made it really difficult and we have to take responsibility for that as a team. Travelling and almost coming back home with a result was disheartening. We have no time to cry over spilt milk, we are now shifting our focus to Galaxy.”
