Chiefs star Dolly targeting big impact at Bafana Bafana

'I’m very excited to join the Bafana team. It’s a very exciting team of talented youngsters,' said Dolly.

Keagan Dolly has been at the forefront of Kaizer Chiefs’ revival this season and played a starring role in their 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at the weekend.

The win boosted Amakhosi’s spirits and left Dolly believing the will reap the rewards of the hard work they have put in already under Stuart Baxter. Dolly is also looking forward to helping Bafana Bafana, as his impressive displays have earned him a recall to Hugo Broos’ squad for this week’s vital Fifa World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Ghana.

“After a big win in the Soweto Derby, I’m very excited to join Bafana,” said Dolly.

“My derby debut was a very good experience, especially since we won. It’s something I’ve always wanted to be a part of and to experience. I got the opportunity and luckily enough I scored two goals,” he added.

Dolly says the youngsters that Bafana coach Hugo Broos has put faith in look good and he hopes to add onto what they have been doing.

“I’m very excited to join the Bafana team. It’s a very exciting team of talented youngsters. The boys have been playing well, they’re on top of the group.

“For me it’s just to come in and help where I can, to try and help us to qualify for the next stage of the qualifiers. We know Zimbabwe are a very difficult team to play against.

“We know most of their players play in the PSL, so we get to see them week in and week out. But if we just stick to what we have been doing and try to win, we’ll do good on the day. It’s a very massive week for Bafana.

“We should focus on the two games coming up, starting with Zimbabwe on Thursday and then we can start focusing on Ghana. I’m quite excited and looking forward to the rest of the camp,” he said.

Bafana play Zimbabwe at home on Thursday and Ghana away on Sunday, in their last two matches in Group G. A win over Zimbabwe and a point against Ghana will be enough to win the group and take them into the final round of World Cup qualifying.
