Limpopo Sasol league champs seek helps ahead of national playoffs

'The team is in need of training equipment, training kit, cones and markers, first aid supplies and traveling uniforms,' read the Copperbelt Ladies' statement.


In their preparations for the Sasol National League playoffs set to be held in KwaZulu-Natal next month, Limpopo Sasol league champs Copperbelt Ladies are pleading with anyone to help them with training equipment, first aid supplies and travelling uniform for the tournament.

Copperbelt won stream A of the Sasol league with 40 points after 14 games, 10 points leaving a 10 points gap between them and second placed Kanatla ladies.

The club from the northern part of the country will battle it out for the R200 000 cash prize money and promotion to the Hollywoodbets Super League along with other eight provincial winners.

Two finalists at the tournament will be assured of a spot in next season’s top tie women’s league in the country, and the Copperbelts will be looking to join their neighbours Ma-Indies and Thunderbirds ladies in the super league.

“Copperbelt Ladies Football Club is a football team based in Moletjie, Limpopo. We aim to develop, improve and nurture future talents to be responsible citizens and role models to the upcoming generations. The objective of the team is to develop young confident and disciplined youths to excel academically and socially. The team is affiliated to Safa (South African Football Association) and competed in the Sasol women’s league in the Capricorn region, Limpopo,” read a statement from the club.

“Copperbelt ladies Football Club won the stream A of the Sasol women’s league and competed with stream B winners Morningstars based in Vhembe to be crowned provincial winners to represent Limpopo in the upcoming women’s national league playoffs this coming December in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.”

“We request assistance in any financial, none financial or in any kind for the growth and success of our team in preparation for the playoffs. The team is in need of training equipment (balls, ladders, agility poles, training kit, cones and markers), first aid supplies and traveling uniforms.”
