Agent confirms Chiefs’ interest in Pirates defender

Justice Chabalala’s agent Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, says Kaizer Chiefs were interested in signing his client in the recent January transfer window.

Mulovhedzi confirmed that former Amakhosi coach Giovanni Solinas was looking to lure the 27-year-old defender away from Pirates.

Solinas worked with Chabalala during his stint at Free State Stars before the Italian coach returned to his native country to attend to his ailing son.

Mulovhedzi says Chabalala is happy at Pirates and they will wait for the club to engage them on extending the 27-year-old’s stay at Rand Stadium.

“There was interest in Justice last year from Chiefs. They were still under the guidance of Solinas at the time. He [Solinas] worked with Chalalala at Free State Stars,” Mulovhedzi told Goal.

“However, Solinas left the club a month before the transfer window and Justice remained at Pirates where he is still happy.

“Justice is committed to Pirates and he will continue to fight for his place in the starting line-up until his contract expires at the end of the season. We are waiting for Pirates to discuss his future.’’
