Banyana’s Dlamini calls for support ahead of World Cup

Banyana sponsors Sasol, launched the Banyana Road to Australia and New Zealand campaign in Sandton, Johannesburg, on Wednesday.

The campaign is part of South Africans to rally behind Banyana at the tournament. Fans can send their messages of support on the Sasol and the Banyana Banyana social media pages.

Dlamini believes getting the support they need will prompt them to play well at the tournament.

“We need all the support we can get at the tournament. It will give us the energy that we need in order to do well and get positive results. We appreciate the support that our sponsors Sasol have given us all these years. They have shown that they believe in us and women’s football in the country in general,” said the Banyana shot-stopper.

“We have to say thanks to Safa for the support as well, they have also been great in making sure that the team is always ready when we are in camp. The friendly matches that have been organised in order to prepare for the World Cup have been a good learning curve for us. Results might have gone well in some matches, but we definitely learnt a lot as a team.”

Banyana players are already in camp preparing for the global tournament. Dlamini believes Banyana will compete well in the global tournament.

“Camp is going well, every player is hard at work trying to make it into the final squad that will be going to the World Cup. So, we are all raising our hands to be selected,” she added.
