Chiefs and Pirates in race for Mncwango’s signature

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are said to be in a race to sign Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango.

Pirates have long been linked with Mncwango, with the forward also confirming that he was talking to the Buccaneers last season.

This confirmation led to him being suspended and later sidelined by Rise and Shine.

Now Isolezwe reports that Amakhosi have joined the race for the 29-year-old player’s signature.

“I will talk about Chiefs as soon as I find out what will happen at my club because right now I still have to respect the team I’m contracted to,” Mncwango told the newspaper.

“I am receiving calls from many teams, but everything is in Polokwane City’s hands. They will decide,” he added.

“If they still need me and we agree, then I don’t have a problem because being happy is what’s important. It’s not like I want to play for another team, because it’s Polokwane City that gave me a chance in the PSL, and apart from that, every family has its problems,” continued the former Baroka frontman.

“However, what’s important is for them to make me happy, and they know what they have to do. I want to change my life and that of my family,” concluded Mncwango.

Mncwango scored three goals in 14 league appearances for City last season.
