Chiefs set to release Manqele and Mthembu

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has confirmed that the club is in negotiations to release strikers Siphelele Mthembu and Edward Manqele from their contracts.

The duo has managed just two league goals in total between them in their time with Chiefs and as a result has been deemed surplus to requirements at Naturena.

“Manqele and Mthembu have had ample time to exert themselves in the team. Unfortunately things didn’t go as anticipated. Therefore, we are busy negotiating an exit deal with the two players,” Motaung told the official Chiefs website.

“We hope everything will go smooth and the two players will have a chance to continue their careers elsewhere.”
