Daine Klate ponders retirement
Bidvest Wits midfielder Daine Klate has revealed that he is already preparing for life after football at the age of 33.

Klate says he has already moved his wife and children to his hometown of Port Elizabeth in preparation for when he hangs up his boots.

“I am in the backend of my career, I am 33 now, so six years left,” Klate told Metro FM.
“The transition is difficult, fortunately I am in contact with Stanton Fredericks talking about an exit strategy.
“All the guys that were in the prime of their careers when I started out are retiring, and I am speaking to them a lot off the field.

“I can see the transition is very difficult, waking up every morning to go to training and all of a sudden you are not going anymore,” Klate continued.
“So I am already preparing myself, I have already set my wife and kids up in PE where I am from, there have been there for the third year. I don’t want my transition to affect them.
“We have already bought a house there and they have set up everything there. I am also working on not being dependent on football in PE, I think the economy in PE is waiting to grow. And the cost of living is less than in Joburg, but I don’t know exactly when I will be moving there. Once I am done playing,” concluded the former Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United star.
