De Sa to become Bafana assistant?

Former Orlando Pirates and Ajax Cape Town coach, Roger De Sa is set to become Bafana Bafana’s assistant coach.

Phakaaathi sources have revealed that De Sa turned down an offer to coach a Tanzanian team and stated that he had an offer from Safa as a reason.

“We tried to speak to him because the club is under new management who have big dreams of clinching the Caf Champions League. He told us he had an offer from Safa and therefore could not accept ours. We also tried Pitso Mosimane but we were told he is off the market before we could even talk to him,” said a source close to Azam FC of Tanzania.

The source also revealed that Azam are set to swoop for a number of Sundowns players as they look to become a force in African football.

Phakaaathi has since learnt that De Sa will be roped in as Carlos Queiroz’s assistant if he is appointed as Bafana coach later this month.

De Sa has previously worked with Queiroz when he was the coach of the Portuguese national team during the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
