Dzvukamanja praises Pirates graft as they look to continue winning streak against Royal AM

'We are working hard to get those maximum points and wins,' said the Pirates attacker.

Orlando Pirates striker Terrence Dzvukamanja says they have been working hard, and deserve everything coming their way going into their next game against Royal AM at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Pirates have been enjoying a good run of form as of late. The Sea Robbers are on a six-game winning streak in the DStv Premiership, and eight matches in all competitions.

The club’s form has really come at the right time for coach Jose Riveiro and his charges. Pirates’ main objective is to ensure they finish the campaign in second place, so that they can qualify for the Caf Champions League.

But the job is far from done – there were just two points separating Pirates in second and SuperSport in third, with three games left in the season, as they headed into this week’s matches. SuperSport played Stellenbosch FC on Tuesday night.

Pirates go into their clash with Royal AM after a determined performance against TS Galaxy this past weekend which saw them win 2-1 away from home.

Dzvukamanja was on the scoresheet for Bucs, as he continued to make an impact for the Soweto giants. He has scored six for the Sea Robbers in his last 14 appearances for the club.

The 28-years old striker believes Pirates’ winning run is based on the effort that is being put in at training ahead of their clash with Thwihli Thwahla.

“I cannot say it’s pressure (to win games), but it’s what we are working hard for here (training). We are working hard to get those maximum points and wins. From my side, I think the way we are working hard we deserve the wins,” said the Bucs striker.

The Buccaneers are coming up against a Royal AM side that is trying to sneak into the top half of the log. But, consistency has been their main problem.

The club from KwaZulu-Natal go into the Pirates clash having lost 2-1 to Cape Town City in their last game. They are sitting in ninth place on the league table with 33 points, just one point behind eighth-placed Swallows FC.
