Ertugral says goodbye to South Africa
Former Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Black Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral has revealed he is leaving South Africa to continue the rest of his career in Europe.
Writing on his official Twitter account, Ertugral said South Africa would always be his home.
With a heavy heart, after 17 years filled with great memories saying goodbye, to continue with the rest of my career in Europe,” wrote Ertugral.
“I am forever humble to be part of the SA football fraternity, and SA will always be a home for me.
“I am very grateful to Dr Irvin Khoza, Morfou brothers, John Comitis, Mato, and especially my ‘President’, Kaizer Motaung.
“I have learned from all of you, and you made me the person that I am today. Thank you.
“To all the supporters, you took me into your hearts and let me feel at home. Thank you.
“Thank you for all the great cooperation from the journalists and the media.
“Special thanks to all my players and my coaching partners. It was a privilege to work together, and we shared miracle moments.”
Ertugral first came to South Africa in 199 to join Kaizer Chiefs.
He then went on to coach Santos, Ajax Cape Town, Golden Arrows, Mpumalanga Black Aces and Pirates.
He has won numerous trophies in South Africa, mostly with Chiefs. Yet he has never won the Absa Premiership.
The Turkish coach left Pirates in November last year following a 6-1 drubbing by SuperSport United.
