Eymael fined R100k by PSL DC

The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Chamber has fined Luc Eymael R100k for refusing to return to his position as Polokwane City coach.

On April 14, the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber ordered Eymael to return to City to serve as head coach for the duration of his contact of employment.

Eymael, however, did not return to City and continued doing his job as Bloemfontein Celtic coach and the PSL charged him with failure to comply with an order of the Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC).

“Mr Luc Nico Eymael was charged with contravening an Order of the League’s Dispute Resolution Chamber dated 14 April 2017 in terms of which Mr Eymael was ordered to resume his duties as coach with Polokwane City FC.

“Mr Eymael was found guilty and sentenced to a fine of R100 000 of which R75 000 was suspended until 30 June 2018, or until a final order is granted by a competent body setting aside the Order of the League’s DRC dated 14 April 2017 or receipt by the League of written confirmation from Polokwane City FC releasing Mr Eymael from any further obligations to Polokwane City FC.

“The suspension of a part of the fine is on condition that Mr. Eymael does not take part in any football related activities other than for and on behalf of Polokwane City FC during the period of suspension.

“Mr Eymael was ordered to pay the costs of sitting,” read a statement issued by the PSL.

In other DC matter, Jomo Cosmos were fined R10 000 after they were found guilty of arriving late for their pre-match meeting for the match against Thanda Royal Zulu on April 16.

“Jomo Cosmos FC were charged with misconduct pursuant to a NFD fixture played on 16 April 2017 against Thanda Royal Zulu FC at the Tsakane Stadium where the club’s representative arrived late for the pre-match meeting in contravention of the Compliance Manual.

“The club was fined R 10 000.”
