Hunt refuses to comment on Keet’s omission against Pirates

Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt said the club will not reveal the reason for Darren Keet's omission against Orlando Pirates this past weekend.

The Bafana goalkeeper, who has conceded 11 goals in four games leading to this clash, was benched with Ricardo Goss starting for the Students in the 1-0 loss to the Buccaneers.

“I don’t want to get into the why and how now, I don’t think it’s the right forum to do that, we do that internally,” Hunt told the reporters after the match.

“But I thought it was the right call (to put Goss in goals) and I’ll do it again if we had to play now again,” added Hunt before refusing to elaborate more on this matter.

Goss was close to keeping a clean sheet in the Pirates match, only for his own defender Keagan Ritchie to beat him deep in injury time.

The own goal proved to be the winner for Bucs, who move to the top of the log standings.
