Komphela slams Chiefs defence

Steve Komphela believes that with better defending, Kaizer Chiefs could have won Saturday's game against SuperSport United.

Amakhosi allowed Matsatsa to equalise twice, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw at Mbombela Stadium.

“Our defence was questionable at the end. We gave away easy goals. Even if you go back up to Baroka match, we let their player run a distance to get into the box. And, also look at the goals against us, most were deflections,” said Komphela after the match.

“We need to concentrate more. Check how we lost against Cape Town City, last kick of the match. We will keep playing until the end.”

Komphela was also not happy with Chiefs’ finishing on the night.

“It is disappointing to drop points this way.

“We gave it away in the last minute. I thought we should have wrapped it up earlier in the game. We missed good chances.”

The draw left Chiefs on fourth position on the log with 46 points from 26 games and four points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have two games in hand.
