Cardoso said his long term friendship with Gordinho is what makes their understanding a little better hence the team has only conceded one goal with them marshalling the defence.
“Me and Lorenzo work well together because we have known each other for a long time,” said the 28-year-old. “We can even swear at each other or get mad. But if I swear or moan Tower (Erick Mathoho) or (Siyabonga) Ngezana their head drops a little. We don’t have a great understanding that I have with Lorenzo,” he added.
Cardoso might be called upon for Saturday’s important Telkom Knockout semifinal against Bidvest Wits. Cardoso said the team owes it to coach Steve Komphela to win this cup.
“Steve has a lot of balls. He handles the pressure and takes it away from us. That is why we are trying to win this for him. As a coach he has not won a domestic trophy, I think we owe it to him to win it,” he said.
