Malesela: There is a lot to be done

The Chilli Boys returned to Port Elizabeth last Sunday and started training on Tuesday to continue with their preparations.

Following a week-long camp in Cape Town, Chippa United coach Dan Malesela reckons there is still more to be done before their opening game of the year against Baroka FC at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on February 7.

The Chilli Boys returned to Port Elizabeth last Sunday.

“We will be doing lot of work in defence in the next couple of days. We will also focus on attacking and scoring. There is a lot to be done before the next game, but the camp helped our preparations for the second round of the season.”

“The return of the players that were injured boosted the team and competition in the team.

“The objective of the camp was to play as many games as possible, and we were pleased with the response from the players on the games we played. We were able to look at different combinations. Out of the five games we played, we scored in four games.

“We are always looking at building camaraderie in the in the team. The mental aspect also very important and the camp give us an opportunity to focus on those areas.”
