Celtic star wants Pirates move

A source close to Bloemfontein Celtic winger Kabelo Mahlasela has revealed to Phakaaathi that Kaizer Chiefs have reignited their interest and want to sign him at the end of the season, but Mahlasela prefers to join Orlando Pirates.

According to the source, Chiefs have spoken to Celtic’s management several times over the services of the player, but Celtic were not keen on releasing one of their key players.

“They have spoken with him and Celtic are aware Chiefs want to sign him. The problem is that he (Mahlasela) wants to go back to Pirates because that is where he grew up. I’m not sure if Pirates have spoken to him, but last time I heard about the Pirates move he (Mahlasela) said they are monitoring him,” said the source.

Mahlasela is set to leave the Free State side on a free transfer after deciding not to renew his contract.
