Pirates eyeing Nedbank Cup

Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola says one of their objectives has always been winning the Nedbank Cup.

The Buccaneers face Bloemfontein Celtic in the quarter-finals of the competition at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

“We had goals that we wanted to achieve this season and one of those goals was to win the Nedbank Cup,” Makola told the PSL website.

Makola added that the Pirates players are looking to reward the club chairman Irvin Khoza and the supporters with the trophy following a poor run in the league.

“So far it’s been good and we’re happy with that, so we’re just hopeful that we can go through to the final and eventually win it for the chairman and for the supporters as well.”
