Pitso applauds Zwane’s ‘unselfish’ act

Pitso Mosimane has praised his forward Themba Zwane following Mamelodi Sundowns’ win over Cape Town City midweek.

This comes after Zwane decided to pass the ball to teammate Phakamani Mahlambi instead of taking a shot at goals, for Sundowns’ third goal in their 3-2 win over Benni McCarthy’s side.

Zwane was through on goals when he decided to pass the ball to Mahlambi who was in a better position to score.

“The most important goal for me was Themba, when he pass the ball to Phakamani I thought he would go for glory,” said Mosimane.

“I was thinking I hope he doesn’t go for glory and be passed it, it was a big goal, look at where we are, after Kermit scored that goal it could have been different, but he (Zwane) played for the team he showed he cares for the team.”

The former Bafana Bafana and SuperSport United coach was pleased with the quality of all the three goals scored by Sundowns on the night.
