Ramovic confident of turning things around at TS Galaxy

The Rockets have had a difficult start to their campaign, sitting bottom of the log with just two points off eight games.

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic believes the players have bought into his philosophy and things will soon turn around for the embattled side.

The Rockets have had a difficult start to their DStv Premiership campaign as they sit at the bottom of the standings with just two points off eight games.

They have drawn two and lost six games but there have been some notable changes in the structure and playing system in the team since the German took over.

“If you want to have a chance against any team in the league, you have to be at your best. So, we have everything that the game can give us. I believe that hard work, patience and dedication will be key to us winning games.

“I believe that the coach’s job is to put the team in the right frame of mind because it is important to the approach of the game, the strategy and the game plan.

“We have the next game now coming, and I believe we are ready to give our best and win the game,” said Ramovic on Monday.

Ramovic said he wants his team to retain the ball and dictate the game and signs of that have shown in their last two games although they still could not get a win.

“Ball possession is important because if you don’t keep the ball you don’t create chances to score goals and you stand to concede goals. The thing is that we should not rush at different sequences. But also, besides ball possession it is important that you have the speed, the passing creativity, good formation, good pressure, good transitions… There are a lot of things just to keep the ball.

“You have to move, you have to run and know when to slow down. Tactics are also important because everyone who is on the field should know what they need to do. ANd the key is that I am starting to grasp how I want them to play.

“I think we showed that in the last game where we created a number of chances but we could not score.

“There are now two things that we need to get right now, the first is to defend well. If you don’t defend well as a team you will always get goals scored against you easily.

“Secondly, we have to improve our offensive game because we cannot create chances and not score. We have had a great week and the players are ready and I believe the time has come that we turn things around.”

Galaxy’s next fixture is a tricky match against Baroka FC who have been blowing hot and cold so far this season.
