Shabba is on fire – Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is hoping Siphiwe Tshabalala does not lose form and continues to play his best football.

The 31-year old midfielder scored a brace against SuperSport United in their last match, taking his goal tally to eight in all competition this season.

“He is on fire he needs a big fire brigade, somebody to stop him. He is just on fire. You see the goals he scores and make no mistakes, the two goals were not a fluke, maybe the Cape Town City you will say maybe Shuaib Walters was not aware. He repeated that in Mbombela,” said the Amakhosi coach.

“I don’t know where he gets his magic, but whoever is magical, continue with it. I think we are playing to his strength, he is a thinker and he hardly loses position and he’s got an eye for goal. At 31, he runs like an 18-year old, we just hope these injuries will back off.”

With just four games to the end of the season, the Glamour Boys are five points behind log leaders Bidvest Wits who are on 51 points and have a game in hand.

Komphela will be eager to see Tshabalala continue with his fine form as they look to close the gap on the league leaders when they host Golden Arrows at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Ahead of the Arrows match, Komphela revealed that goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune might be back from injury.

“Khune Started training with the team today (Tuesday), I am sure we will get feedback. Hopefully he will be available over the weekend, but I must say Bvuma has been doing well,” he added.
