Shalulile and Williams up for top Caf awards
Sundowns are also nominated for Club of the Year at the prestigious Caf award.

There’s more good news to celebrate in the Mamelodi Sundowns camp after star striker Peter Shalulile and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams were nominated for top awards at next month’s 2023 Caf Awards which are going to be held in North Africa.

Caf released the list of nominees on Wednesday for the awards that are scheduled for December 11 in Marrakech, Morocco.
On the back of reaching the African Football League final, the Brazilians received more good news with Shalulile and Williams getting two nominations each.
The DStv Premiership champions are also nominated for Club of the Year at the prestigious Caf award.
Shalulile got the nod in the Player of the Year and Inter-club Player of the Year category. Williams on the other hand is up for Inter-club Player of the Year and the newly-introduced category of African Goalkeeper of the Year.
According to Caf, the winners of each category will be decided after votes from a panel consisting of the Caf technical committee, media, head coaches and captains of member associations and clubs involved in the group stages of the Inter-club competitions.

The performance of the nominees under consideration are between November 2022 and September 2023.
Meanwhile, South Africa and Al-Ahly superstar Percy Tau who starred in his club’s run to champions league glory last season is nominated for Player of the Year and Inter-club Player of the Year awards.
Kaizer Chiefs new signing Ranga Chivaviro is in line for the Inter-club Player of the Year gong after helping former team Marumo Gallants reach last season’s semi-final of the Confederation Cup.
Gallants are also nominated for Club of the Year award.
