“It was our first training session, we had a great one and you could tell with the mood in the camp that the girls are excited. They have brought a positive attitude to training and it looks very good. The intensity of the session on Wednesday was very high and you could tell that everyone wants to start come Saturday,” said Tshabalala.

Defender and assistant captain of the team Karabo Makhurubetshi shared Tshabalala’s sentiments on the players readiness for the opening match.

“The girls are very happy and the session was very competitive, showing that everyone is giving their all and ready to take on Vihiga Queens in the first game,” the Downs vice-captain shared her thoughts on the team’s enthusiasm ahead of the match.

Meanwhile, Banyana Ba Style have been boosted by the return of goalkeeper Andile Dlamini, who has missed a lot of football this year due to an injury. The experienced Banyana Banyana keeper will surely play a key role in helping the team become successful at the tournament.

“Just being in Egypt, Cairo feels good. It feels good being with the team after so long of me having to recover. The group is amazing, it gives me goose bumps right now as I am talking because I have always prayed for this moment and it finally came,” said the shot-stopper.
