SuperSport not keen on Sundowns defender

SuperSport United have distanced themselves from rumours suggesting they are interested in the services of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Thabo Nthethe.

The veteran centreback has not kicked a ball since October last year and Matsatsantsa insist that they are not planning to lure the 33-year-old from Downs at the end of the season, as was suggested.

Meanwhile, Eric Tinkler is set to send out his youngsters to begin SuperSport United’s Nedbank Cup defence against Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday. “It does not mean that when going into the game we’re not serious. The players we brought into the club are the players who we believe have the potential of playing in the first team,” said Tinkler.

“That’s why the youngsters are here. The hard thing is giving them game time when we are under pressure,” he added.
