Zamalek interested in Billiat – report

Zamalek are said to have shown interest in Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Khama Billiat.

According to New Zimbabwe, Zamalek president Mortada Mansour told reporters on Monday that Billiat had agreed to join the club and were now waiting for the coach’s decision to finalise the deal.

“We received an offer concerning Billiat, but our decision to hire him depends on the opinion of team’s coach Mohamed Helmi,” Mansour is quoted as saying.

Zamalek becomes the latest Egyptian side to show interest in Billiat after Al Ahly were said to have also expressed desire to sign the Sundowns midfielder.

Belgian clubs KV Oostende and Club Brugge were also reportedly interested in signing the 26-year-old midfielder.

Billiat is currently recovering from an injury but is set to return to action when Sundowns take on Kaizer Chiefs next week Saturday.
