Fantasy Football April Edition

Vhutshilo Thavhiwa has leaped to the top of the Phakaaathi Fantasy Football League after the first week with his Chela Thupha!! collecting 75 points to take his tally to 2038

But it is still early stages and with the English Premier League back in full swing this weekend, he will need to make good calls again to keep his lead and stand a chance of winning a Defy stove worth R7 999, which is the prize for the month of April. His lead is however under a lot of threat with second-placed Deenan Moodley’s Jurgenmeisters – who didn’t have a good week, collecting just 49 points – just five points behind on 2033. It will, however, be interesting to see how things pan out after this weekend. Abubakr Hassen’s Reid Your Salah remain third despite collecting 77 points and will look to have a better week in order to catch up. Yusuf Bham collected the most points in the first week of April with his Busby Babes collecting an incredible 80 points to jump to sixth in the standings. If he can keep the good run going, he is sure to be among those with a chance at this month’s grand prize. Jamie Vardy was the best player in the first week, adding an incredible 16 points to the tally of those who picked him. The English international scored twice in Leicester City’s 4-1 at Huddersfield Town. He could be a good pick again this week as he will definitely be the man to watch when they host Newcastle United. Looking at players who could earn you more points this week, we picked three.

Mathew Ryan – The Brighton and Hove Albion keeper will play in two matches which are not that tough and if he manages to
keep clean sheets both against Bournemouth and Cardiff City he will definitely earn you more points. He could prove to be the
right pick.

Shane Duffy -With Brighton and Hove Albion playing twice in game week 34, picking their players could make sense as their games are not that difficult and they could do well. The burly defender has earned some good points over the weeks.

Victor Camarasa -The Cardiff City midfielder has done well and will be the man to watch as the side also play twice in game week 34. If he keeps his form, he could be a good bet to earn you some solid points.

There is still plenty of time to win great monthly prizes this season, and Phakaaathi readers can still enter the Phakaaathi Private Fantasy League, by clicking here. The prize for April is a Defy 731 stove worth R7 999! Good luck!
