WATCH: Inside Joburg’s newest hotel Radisson Red Rosebank

Radisson Red Rosebank is inspired by art, music, fashion and attracting the millennial market and Johannesburg's newest hotel celebrates this.

You may have noticed how many events we have gone to that have been hosted at Radisson Red Rosebank, Johannesburg.

This is because it’s the city’s newest and buzziest hotel.

Months before its grand opening, Radisson Red gave The Citizen a tour of their hotel.

It has 222 modern and bold hotel rooms, two restaurants (OUI Bar & KTCHN and RED Rooftop), offering a variety of options. There is also a gym, six-event studios as well as a rooftop with great views and a lap pool.

The hotel is at the centre of the business hub in Rosebank. It’s within walking distance of many facilities, such as three malls, a business district, the Keyes Art Mile, The Goodman Gallery and TMRW Gallery, all just a 10-minute stroll away.

The RED brand from the Radisson Hotel Group is for the younger, modern traveller, showcased by how it is designed with bold colours and fashionable interior.

RDC Properties executive chairman Guido Giachetti said Radisson Red as a brand is inspired by art, music, fashion and attracting the millennial market. He adds the art showcased in the hotel is from real artists, and not copies.

The artwork is from sculpturist Jake Singer, Marlene Steyn and Usha Seejarim.

Singer’s work is world-renowned and featured in many art galleries around the world. Seejarim is the creator of the Instagramable angel wings made of ironing bases.

Radisson RED Rosebank has positioned itself as the venue for art galleries and entertainment events.

The hotel’s marketing and communications’ France Litten adds that “red is a feeling and an experience.” This is how they want guests to feel.

Having Radisson Reds in Cape Town and Dubai, it was long overdue they had one in Johannesburg, Litten says.

From karaoke to the rooftop experience, a room filled with balloons for guests to pop to win a night stay and a fashion exhibit, this all captured the feeling of youth, and taking a shameless moment to celebrate.

The Radisson Red hotel looks like it will become a staple in many outdoor events and local stays.
