Wine enthusiasts, it’s weekend – yet another opportunity to meander through the Vaal Triangle to taste some of the best estate wines South Africa has to offer!

This year’s Vaal River Meander Wine Route is on until the end of July.

The participating venues are Cock & Bull Pub, Emerald Resort & Casino, Heritage Village, Memories, Rio Sol Portuguese Restaurant (Vereeniging), Riviera on Vaal Resort, Urban Vines Bistro and Vineyard, Waterfront Country Lodge & Spa, and Stonehaven on Vaal.

The venues showcase different estates, so you can go from venue to venue and enjoy tasting different wine farms’ vintages. The eight venues are all positioned either on or nearby the Vaal River. At a cost of only R50 per person, eight different wine cultivars can be enjoyed at each of the participating venues. These venues are diverse and offer contrasting wine tasting experiences such as a conventional tasting in a restaurant or cozy pub, or by houseboat, luxury cruiser, water-taxi, tour-bus, in your own car or by helicopter. The choice is yours!

This is also a great opportunity for companies to entertain their clients or staff with well-priced wine tasting experiences with or without food pairing – every experience with a distinctive edge. To organize a corporate or private group outing during these eight weeks, there are a number of packages from which to choose. Personalized packages can be tailored for your individual, corporate or private needs.

Vaal River Meander Wine Route 2022 will be concluded with the grand finale – the Wine Expo at Stonehaven on Vaal – on Saturday, July 30. The R250 ticket will allow guests to enjoy wines from dozens of different wine estates at Stonehaven and includes a complimentary wine tasting glass and a cruise aboard a luxury cruiser, or a R50 food voucher. Tickets for the grand finale will be on sale from June 30.
