VANDERBIJLPARK. – Nineteen school children were recently left injured when the taxi they were travelling in overturned on Faraday Road.

Zandie Shabangu, a local Educational Psychologist, read about the accident on Vaalweekblad’s Facebook page and offered free therapy/trauma counselling services to five children or parents who were affected by the accident. They can contact her at 074 341 5114.

On the morning of the accident ER24 paramedics, along with the Provincial Emergency Medical Services (EMS), arrived at the scene at 07:22 to find the taxi lying on its side in the middle median. Several children were sitting on the median being attended to by the community. Medics assessed the children aged between 7 and 12, and found that they had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
