VANDERBIJLPARK. – The Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance Lebogang Maile has appointed an administrator for the Emfuleni Local Municipality, it was revealed late last night.

The role of the administrator will be performed by the Deputy Director General of the Gauteng Department for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Willy Bila.

The role of the administrator will include undertaking of all executive functions of the municipal council, as well as statutory executive functions of the executive mayor.

Bhila will also finalise reported fraud and corruption cases.
