Pick n Pay Vaal Mall temporarily closed due to COVID-19

A sign that was placed on the door on Monday read: “This store is temporarily closed.”

Vaalweekblad visited the store this morning to confirm the closure.

According to Pick n Pay what they do in the event a staff member tests positive for COVID-19 and has been in the store in the last 7 days:

  • The store is closed immediately.
  • The store is deep cleaned and sanitised by a specialist company.
  • Those in closed in contact with the staff member are immediately traced and sent home to self-quarantine for the required period.
  • All staff who were not in close contact with the staff member are screened by health practitioners.
  • The store is reopened in consultation with the Department of Health.
