11 injured as bakkie rolls in Vanderbijlpark

Eleven men were been injured in a bakkie rollover on Boundary Road, Vanderbijlpark on Friday afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene along with the Provincial Emergency Medical Services at 14:36 to find the bakkie and all of its passengers in the veld.

According to ER24 spokesperson, Russel Mereing ten of the patients had been ejected from the back of the bakkie and one had been driving. Another three are believed to have been travelling in the passenger seat and were uninjured in the incident.

“One of the six treated and transported by ER24 had suffered serious injuries – he required Advanced Life Support interventions to stabilise his condition. Another had suffered moderate injuries and the other four, minor injuries.”

All six were taken to Metsimaholo Hospital for further care.

The South African Police Services were also on the scene for further investigations.
