VEREENIGING. – Furious residents of Three Rivers had the chance to interact with the mayor of the Emfuleni Local Municipality, Reverend Gift Moerane, and the administrator for basic services and infrastructure, Silas Zimu, during a heated public meeting held at the Post Office in Bashee Street on Monday 7 December.

Residents of this high paying suburb have been left without electricity for approximately a month following a series of disasters, which included an explosion of a transformer and subsequent explosions along a network of cables supplying the neighborhood with electricity.

The meeting almost descended into chaos when furious residents started shouting at the mayor and administrator.
