Sedibeng women in sports to be honoured

The awards recognize women, young and old, for their contribution in sports.

VANDERBIJLPARK.- A Futballing Girls Sedibeng Women In Sports Awards photo- shoot took place in Vanderbijlpark over the weekend.

The photo shoot was in rehearsal for the main event that is scheduled to be live on Facebook and other social media platforms this Friday.

The winners have already been announced but because the organisers want to create a vibe, they have asked the media not to publish the names of the winners so that people will watch the awards live on their Facebook page.

The awards recognize women, young and old, for their contribution in sports.

This is Futballing Girls initiative to recognise women in sports in the Gauteng Province. Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Futballing Girls Founder, Moonira Ramathula said that because of the lockdown regulations the awards will be held virtually as part of a ‘new normal’ in sports.

Futballing Girls will host this event in conjunction with Gauteng Sports Confederation and Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM). Ramathula said that she is overwhelmed by how much the women who received the awards appreciated being recognised for their contribution in the development of sports in this country.
