Don’t buy chameleons from venders

VEREENIGING. - The local SPCA would like to remind residents that buying and selling chameleons is illegal.

Another chameleon was recently rescued by the Vereeniging/Vanderbijpark SPCA team. It seems that Sonland Park is a local hot spot.

“We are appealing to the public to please stop buying chameleons from venders next to the road. By buying these wild animals you are supporting the illegal trade. We need to protect and cherish our wildlife. If you see chameleons being sold next to the road you need to report it,” pleads the SPCA.

Please contact their office on 016 422 1505 and help fight illegal animal trade.
