Three killed in head-on collision near the Vanderbijlpark offramp

Three people were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bakkie and a Fortuner on the N1 North, near the Vanderbijlpark offramp over the Easter Weekend.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said paramedics arrived on the scene along with Provincial Emergency Medical Services and another private medical service. “A man believed to be in his 40s was found entrapped in the wreckage of the bakkie. He showed no signs of life and was declared dead on arrival.

A man and a woman believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s were found entrapped in the Fortuner. They too showed no signs of life and were declared dead dead on arrival.”

An adult male and adult female who were also travelling in the Fortuner were found to have suffered minor injuries and were treated and transported by both Provincial Emergency Medical Services  and the other private service on the scene to Sebokeng Hospital for further care.

The South African Police Services (SAPS) were on scene for further investigation and awaiting the Fire Department for the extraction of the deceased.
