Two-vehicle collision leaves four injured

Four people were left injured when a bakkie crashed into the side of a light motor vehicle at the R551 near the Karee Kloof turn-off outside of Meyerton.

MEYERTON. – According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesman, ER24 and Provincial Fire Services arrived on the scene at 13h20 to find the light motor vehicle on one side of the road while a bakkie was found on the opposite side.

“A woman was found lying trapped inside the car while three others were walking around the bakkie.

“Medics assessed the patients and found that the entrapped woman was in a serious condition while the three others had sustained moderate injuries,” says Meiring.

Fire Services used specialised equipment to free the trapped woman.

“Once released, medics treated the patients and provided the seriously injured woman with pain-relief medication before they were transported to a nearby hospital for further care,” he concluded.
