Manhunt on for suspect on a shooting spree in Boipatong
The Community of Boipatong is warned against using the open velds next to Frikkie Meyer Boulevard, Delfos, Winniepark and Miami sands including the power station, as these are some of the spots where the man is believed to be using to catch his victims
BOIPATONG. – Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect going around shooting at people in Boipatong.
He is also believed to be the same person operating at the Vuka cemetery in Sharpeville.
The suspect is described as tall, light in complexion with dreadlocks.
As a result, the Community of Boipatong is warned against using the open velds next to Frikkie Meyer Boulevard, Delfos, Winniepark and Miami sands including the power station, as these are some of the spots where the man is believed to be using to catch his victims.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela says, “Members of the community are urged to rather take long routes than taking short cuts that may lead them into danger.”
Maxambela states that the suspect usually operates where there are a lot of trees and tall grass. “He targets men and women on foot going and coming from work.
“Police have launched investigations into cases of armed robbery, rape, attempted murder and murder including those that happened in the Sharpeville policing area.”
Khasuli said that officers are on the ground and will leave no stone unturned in this matter.
