Vanderbijlpark residents warned to brace themselves for more water outages

VANDERBIJLPARK.- Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) has warned residents to brace themselves for more water outages.

Following installation of the check meters and routine maintenance being performed overnight, technicians have this morning discovered a minor leak on the bulk line feeding water to the Vanderbijlpark reservoirs.

Consequently, water supply shutdown to Vanderbijlpark, Bonanne, Boipatong, Tshirela, Bophelong, Bophelong Extensions and surrounding plots remains in place.

In a statement on Thursday ELM said: “Some areas have no water, while others are experiencing significant drop in pressure levels. Technicians are attending to the minor leak, following which normal water supply will resume.”

“Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly while technicians complete the work on the line. The municipality hereby apologizes for the inconvenience caused.”
