Mrs Lorna Immelman of Three Rivers writes:
Two little words with great strength and meaning: Thank you!
When Gary and I went down with Covid, the help, the love and the dedication that was poured onto us has been wonderful.
It began with our dear friend Dr Harold Plit; the ladies that have the not so nice task of taking a swab; Midvaal Pharmacy with their exceptional friendly, efficient service; our local dry cleaner who collected and delivered our ironing on a daily basis and then we had the amazing Elizabeth Aspeling who cooked food and put strength back into us every day for the past few weeks.
“Thank you” just doesn’t quite seem to say enough but each one of you have contributed to pulling us through this wretched virus. Oh, and I’ve had my cake – Elizabeth went to TipTop Bakery and delivered it to me.
Every single message that was sent from all over the world meant so much as well. Some of you were also sick and very sadly we’ve all lost people near and dear. It’s been the coming together that has yet again reminded me of the true goodness in folk.
Eight years ago now, Gary experienced all this when I was in ICU.
Sadly, we both experienced your great outpouring of love five years ago when we lost our son Quintin Immelman and now we have been blessed to be on the receiving end once more. Thank you, take care and go well.
