SASOLBURG. – Each year, on 18 July, International Mandela Day is celebrated in South Africa. It is a day that overflows with the spirit of community service and volunteering to honour the great legacy of the late President Nelson Mandela’s values.

Many Vaal Triangle businesses, institutions and individuals put their shoulders to the wheel to relieve the plight of the poor, jobless families who are suffering as a result of illness and the Covid-19 lockdown.

Blue Ribbon is one of the companies which distributed 500 loaves of bread among Zamdela’s needy to fill many hungry tummies, especially those with children and the elderly.

The community of Zamdela thanked Blue Ribbon and all the companies that showed their care and support on Mandela Day.

They also gave special thanks to Ms Jackie van Waveren and other members of Vanderbijlpark Rotary Club, Dr Lawrence Kok of Lauren’s Palace and members of Christ Embassy Zamdela, who operate under the TNI Foundation.
