SE4 land grab: EFF denies involvement

The EFF's chairperson for the Sedibeng Region has dismissed claims that the party was behind a failed land grab in Vanderbijlpark's SE4 region earlier today.

VANDERBIJLPARK. – This follows after a land invastion was prevented on Wednesday afternoon (29 September 2021).

A group of about 50 people began marking out stands and erecting structures on a piece of land in Vanderbijlpark’s SE4 area next to Andries Potgieter Boulevard.

The DA pointed out in a statement that the land invasion comes in the wake of calls for land to be given to people at the EFF Manifesto launch recently.

Isaac Khithika, the EFF’s Regional Chair in the Sedibeng Region says claims that the EFF is somehow involved in this is laughable.

The EFF did not sanction this drunk land invasion program.

When we occupy land we don’t call camera personnel and by-law units.

We don’t stage our land grab programs, we occupy.

(The) DA is desperate for the middle class vote which they are losing daily to the reds and greens.

This is just another PR campaign gone wrong for the blues because they are aware that they are losing power there come the 1st of November,” Khithika told Vaalweekblad in response to the DA’s statement.
