The days of the American Wild West are long gone where cowboys played poker with cigars dangling from their mouths, a six shooter under the table and play was restricted to bars. Today, it is a thinking game, calling for strategy and the ability to mentally work out the odds in your head and make those instantaneous ‘all in’ calls.
With the Resort being just a short 45-minute drive from Johannesburg, why not take the entire family for a ‘poker vacation’? There are plenty of amenities and fun activities for the whole family and accommodation specials that are reserved for poker players.
“The game of poker has grown significantly in South Africa, and we are looking forward to not only hosting this tournament but welcoming all the poker players (and their families) back to the Resort,” concludes Tanuja.
(Signing up onto the Emerald’s Rewards Program is free. Positive identification is required in form of an Identity Book or Driver’s License. Visit the Rewards Desk in the Casino to get the new card.)
