Boipatong SAPS gives back to the community

The aim of the drive was to give back to the community of phase 3 Sector 1.

BOIPATONG. – Boipatong SAPS through their Victim Friendly Facility (VFF)in conjunction with the Indibano Victim Empowerment NGO recently conducted a ‘Power Hour’ clothing drive.

The aim of the drive was to give back to the community of phase 3 Sector one.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Thembeka Maxambela reports that the drive was conducted in line with the 16 days of  Activism for No Violence against Women and Children.

“The team went out to the streets of Boipatong Phase 3 Informal settlements to empower and educate women and children about gender based violence, drugs and substance abuse.”

Maxambela states that the initiative was positively received by the community. “More programmes such as this one will  follow as Boipatong SAPS now has a Youth crime Prevention team.

“The interim wishes to invite the community to join in their efforts to eradicate crime in the area.”
