Cable theft at NW 7 Substation leads to power supply interruptions
Consumers in NW 7 are requested to limit their power usage until repairs are completed.

Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) is attending to power outages affecting consumers in Bophelong, Movhango, Bonanne, Stephanopark, CW Areas and NW7.

According to municipality this is due to theft of a 11kV cable at NW 7 Substation that led to the Town Substation tripping.
In a statement on Tuesday ELM said technicians are currently on site investigating the extent of the damage at the two affected substations.
“Provided that there are no damages at the Town Substation, supply to Bophelong, Movhango, Bonanne, Stephanopark and CW Areas will be restored today.”

Power supply to parts of NW 7 will also be restored while the contractor works on repairing the damaged cables. Consumers in NW 7 are requested to limit their power usage until repairs are completed. Consumers will be notified when supply is normalized.”
