Rand Water is not anticipating any interruption over the period of the maintenance work, however, in the event of any trip, customers will be informed.

Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) and Eskom will be undertaking maintenance work in the next five days at their Powerville Main Substation, which supplies Rand Water’s Vereeniging Water Treatment Plant (RWVWTP) with electricity. The work started today (Saturday 26 March 2022) and is expected to carry on until Wednesday 30 March. According to a media statement, released by Rand Water late yesterday evening (25 March), this work will improve the reliability of electricity supply to the RWVWTP.

Rand Water is not anticipating any interruption over the period of the maintenance work, however, in the event of any trip, customers will be informed. As a precautionary measure, Rand Water has postponed all planned shutdowns that were supposed to take place at the beginning of April 2022 until further notice. The planned shutdowns were the S3 Pipeline that was supposed to commence from 1– 3 April and the H47 Pipeline planned for the 6 April. Rand Water again urge consumers to continue using water sparingly.
