Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) says it will confirm replacement parts of the Town Substation on Tuesday, 19 April.

According to the municipality testing of the power transformer and other equipment is underway.

“So far, the team has identified three cables and switchgears that need to be replaced. Procurement processes to get replacement breakers are still ongoing.”

Giving an update of Munic Substation the municipality said it is in the process of sourcing a replacement transformer and switchgears.

“Manufacturers have committed to provide lead times for this equipment of Tuesday. No ETR can be shared at this stage, updates will be given as and when there are further developments.”
