Man in possession of copper cable worth R100 000 arrested

The police in Vereeniging have arrested a suspect who was found in possession of copper cable worth R100 000.

VEREENIGING. – Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda reports that the police together with Afriguard, Intervention task team, SSG security, and UDS Drones received intelligence and operationalized it.

“At 01:00 the team arrived on the scene in Duncanville and found about seven suspects digging out copper cable.

“Six of the suspects in different directions into the bushes and one suspect was arrested.”

The suspect was arrested and charged with damage to essential infrastructure.
